The coreographies, or "tifos", made in the stand are one of the most beatiful side of the supporters action in the stands of a football stadium. Specially when the messagens are spectacular, inteligent and ironical. The Champions League 3rd preliminary round allowed Brondby fans, from Denmark, to use a Pac Man idea to make their club overcome the dutch team Ajax of Amsterdam. The effect was great but, of course, the reply happened at the ArenA, in the second leg. Here are the best images of that healthy rivalry between soccer fans. Enjoy.

It's a natural reaction. Protesters clash with riot police, as tens of thousands march through the streets of Paris on the 16th of March of this year of 2006. Students and unions in France vowed to step up protests against the First Employment Contract (CPE) law, an open-ended contract for under 26 year olds that can be terminated within the first two years without explanation. I would have done the same. Honour to those who had the courage to fight for their rights on the streets.

These are unique supporters in Portugal, and maybe in Europe. The people from Guimarães give their heart and souls for their Vitória, a respected football club that is struggling to maintain itself on the portuguese League, but that has a chance to go back to the european competitions through the portuguese cup, thanks to the fact they eliminated Benfica at Da Luz Stadium. Here are some images of the passionate support of Guimarães fanatics in the last sunday match in Paços de Ferreira, at Mata Real, surely one of the worst stadiums in european top football. Enjoy.

A nova realidade da II Divisão portuguesa, que coloca as equipas da Madeira a competir na zonas nortenhas da competição, permite aos portistas da Pérola do Atlântico mais alguns contactos com as cores do seu coração. Mesmo não se tratando da formação principal, a equipa B, treinada pelo conhecido Aloísio, também merece apoio. Por acaso, foi o Pontassolense que levou a melhor, triunfando por 2-0, mas o que contou foi a intenção dos Super Dragões da Madeira, que não perderam a oportunidade de dizer presente.

Num mundo de gigantes como é o da NBA, é incrível que um homem de apenas 1.75m tenha conseguido vencer uma competição tão exigente como é o concurso de afundanços. Nate Robinson, dos New York Knicks, conseguiu esse pequeno milagre. Os mais entendidos da matéria vão seguramente lembrar-se de Spud Webb, o pequeno (1.70m) base dos Atlanta Hawks que venceu o concurso de afundanços nos anos 80, surpreendendo tudo e todos. Pois bem, Nate Robinson fez algo de simplesmente espectacular. Solicitou a colaboração de Webb, o outro pigmeu da história do concurso de afundanços e abriu o concurso voando sobre ele para um espectacular "slam dunk". Incrível. O alemão Dirk Nowitzki venceu o concurso de triplos utilizando a melhor estratégia, que é ir crescendo ao longo da prova. Para mim, sempre foram estes eventos paralelos a parte mais saborosa do NBA All Star weekend. Aqui ficam as melhores imagens. Divirtam-se.
Knicks rookie Nate Robinson outlasted Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala in a dunk-off 47-46 to become the Sprite Rising Stars Slam Dunk champion. The 5-9 Robinson's only 50-point dunk was on a bounce pass from Spud Webb, the 1986 champion and the only other sub-6-foot winner in Slam Dunk history. Iguodala had a 50-point slam in each round. Memphis rookie Hakim Warrick and defending champion Josh Smith of Atlanta were eliminated in the first round with two-dunk totals of 86 and 81 points, respectively.
